Anne Shields, MS, BCC, PCC

Foundational and Career Elective Curriculum

A native New Englander, Anne moved frequently in pursuit of her educational and professional goals. Her graduate coursework combined courses in human development, counseling, and administration. Her coaching style draws on storytelling, uses humor, and conveys a deep belief in self-efficacy.

Anne’s first career was as an administrator at several nationally ranked colleges and universities. Recruited to develop strategic plans, design staffing structures, and increase effectiveness of programs and services, she applied her big-thinking skill to organizations. Her success, though, grew out of developing others by listening between the lines, asking probing questions, and conveying genuine confidence in others’ abilities to grow. A seasoned manager, she has led teams to higher levels of performance and cohesiveness. A dynamic presenter, she has spoken at more than a dozen conferences. A skilled facilitator, she has guided hundreds of career and leadership workshops and dozens of strategic management retreats with small teams and nonprofit organizations. An experienced career coach, she has supported thousands of people in discovering their strengths, setting their directions, and achieving their goals.

Anne and her husband live in western New York with their elder border collie, Demi.
