Introduction to Career Coaching

This course is based on two texts which provide information on issues relevant to working as a career coach, including the signs and stages of job loss grief. Students will learn valuable tools to encourage their client, including visualization, goal setting, and other proven methods to help clients to not only survive but thrive during this difficult transition. Exploring the issues the unemployed, and those changing careers deal with, as well as the ways coaches can work with their clients to move forward, set goals, etc. is also discussed. Case studies will be used and discussed from a coaching perspective.

Weekly assignments are required, along with optional weekly peer groups.
