This 5-step program is ideal for anyone wrestling with a life transition, trying to make a critical career decision, or craving more meaning in life. It helps people identify their top 40 skills and interests, brainstorm new directions, develop a concise description of their purpose, and create a plan to bring a new found purpose to life. It is ideal for both groups and individuals.

The Purpose Clarity Program is a versatile program that helps you work with a wide variety of people including those who are:

In this training, you will experience the program personally while guiding a practice client through the process. In addition to the class hours, you will have 1 - 2 hours of homework per week to work through the program yourself and you will have a 1 hour session with your practice client each week.

Upon completing the course and all requirements, you will be certified by Carol to use the Purpose Clarity program to guide your work with clients who are seeking clarity about their life purpose, their career purpose, or a blend of the two. For each client you work with, you will have the ability to order client materials in the form of an eBook ($40), a printed workbook ($60), or an online hybrid coaching format ($40) that allows you to blend email coaching and live client sessions.

The Purpose Clarity Program was developed by Carol McClelland Fields, PhD, BCC early in her coaching career.

Frequency: This course is offered twice a year.

Course Prerequisites

During this eight week course, you'll work with one practice "client." These "clients" can be people you are already working with in your practice, friends and family members, or colleagues. Your practice client needs to be committed and ready to go before the course begins.

The key is to find an individual who fits the following criteria:

  1. They are in a transition of some kind and seeking clarity in their future direction--personally, professionally or scholastically.
  2. They are willing to talk with you about their transition in depth.
  3. They can meet with you once a week either in person or by phone.
  4. They are willing to commit to 8 conversations of 60 minutes.
  5. They are willing to have their situation discussed as a case study during the training - without mention of their names.
  6. They are not involved in several acute transitions simultaneously– relocating, having a baby, getting married, going on vacation, etc.

Testimonials

If the point is to get to your purpose, here's the bottom line –this program works! Through carefully selected exercises that build on each other, clients go from confusion to clarity. I look forward to using this model more.

Karin Marcus is an outstanding trainer!! I cannot emphasize this enough. I really like her style and her pace. I have taken courses from her in the past and will take them again. I hold her wisdom and skills in high regard. Carol McClelland's brain children - Purpose Clarity and Seasons of Change- are both godsends to this earth. I feel so lucky to have found both of these talented mentors. Keep them around! They are good!

- La Ronda Z.

This was an extremely well-organized course, especially in regard to curriculum and material. We had both a coach and user guide, and the agenda was extremely clear. Reviewing our work with a practice client in class, and hearing how others were doing, really helped to understand the program better. Carol was compassionate, flexible, and insightful. One thing particularly effective was her demonstrating many times in class what a conversation between coach/client might look like.
