Workplace Wellness

blockTextBody

Healthy and well employees are the cornerstone of any successful business. Employees spend over 2,000 hours a year at work, more time than they do most anything else in their life. What happens in the workplace directly impacts the employees overall health and well-being. Preventable disease and obesity have skyrocketed, putting a major financial burden on businesses required to pay for employee health care costs and on employees who bear higher out of pocket costs.

Since many employers are at a loss of how to create and implement workplace wellness plans, this course will provide you with the opportunity to learn more about:

  • Planning, implementation, and evaluation of a Workplace Wellness program
  • Identify the preventable diseases plaguing the workforce and discuss ways that an effective Workplace Wellness Program can directly decrease those diseases.
  • Analyze some of the assessments that exist and discuss how you can use them in your coaching program.
  • Identify the gaps in wellness
  • Address ethical concerns related to privacy and employers vs employee information.

To complete the course you will need to have access to a computer/tablet and be comfortable using the Internet as you will be working on an e-learning platform, viewing and listening presentations, as well as providing input in an interactive relationship with the course instructor. Students will have one year to complete the requirements for this course.

Testimonials

I enjoyed learning about the best practices of establishing a wellness program. I also connected how the key elements to success are related to best practices in change management around gaining senior sponsorship, assessing stakeholders, and tailoring messaging. It was fun to learn more about something I am personally passionate about. I also enjoyed designing an idea for a wellness program.

I read about wellness programs for corporations but I didn't have any first hand experience with content or how they worked. With the instructors’s modules and the text I was able to glean how they were designed and how to market them to clients. My niche is Workplace Mental Health and I can see now where I could expand to holistically look at the “whole employee”.
