Ethical Issues for Therapist-Coaches

During this course you will explore the most common questions with regard to coaching ethics, particularly if you are already a therapist or counselor who is adding coaching to their practice. Ethical codes and competencies from three major coach organizations/affiliations will be discussed as will issues of Informed consent.

Topics of discussion include:

• Therapist to Coach: Most Frequently Asked Questions
• Coaching Ethics
• Coaching Competencies
• Informed Consent

Course Objectives

• Participants will gain an understanding of dual responsibilities of a coach-therapist.
• Participants will be able to identify coach competencies.
• Participants will familiarize themselves with coaching codes of ethics.

To complete the course you will need to have access to a computer/tablet and should be comfortable using the Internet as you will be working on an e-learning platform. You will be required to answer experiential questions and you will receive individualized feedback from your Learning Coach throughout the course. Students will have one year to complete the requirements for this course.
